5 year old pees on himself on purpose and throws tantrums. I'm so frustrated?

My son is 5 years old. He has been potty trained for almost 2 years. About 3 months ago he wet the bed. I felt horrible for him, told him it would be okay, changed him and sent him back to bed. Well, he has wet the bed about 90% of the time since then but, only at bedtime. Plus he never wets the bed at the sitters, my brothers, his mothers... anywhere but at home. He goes to the restroom before bed. Most times he only urinates a tiny bit in his pants but, it's enough for him to tell me "daddy, I peed my pants". The first month or so I was very compassionate and understanding. The next month I didn't say a word to him when it happened, just changed him and sent him back to bed. Recently I have started making him stand in the corner for a few minutes and then change him. I make him help me clean the mess almost every time. I've tried positive reinforcement, encouragement, silence, punishment... everything I can think of but, he continues to wet the bed. Everything I'm reading online says that very rarely will a child wet himself on purpose but, I'm 99% confident that this is the case. I don't know if he's trying to get attention, if he's trying to test me, if he sees it as an excuse to not go to sleep... I just don't know. Most times it seems like a game to him... he'll have a smile on his face when he tells me he wet himself. I've even went to the extent of threatening to put him back in a diaper at bedtime. He laughs at me Usually, when I threaten something I intend on backing it up but, I just couldn't bring myself to put him back in a diaper. He was crying and I felt like it wasn't the right thing to do. I'm at a loss and hope ya'll have some good advice for me. Thanks for your time, much appreciated.

We have a 4 month old boy and are looking to cut out his 11:00 (evening) feed. What is the best way to do this?

My son is 4 months old and feeds at 7am, 11am, 3pm, 7pm and 11pm. He falls asleep without fail straight after his 7pm feed and is always in his cot by 8pm. So he already has his bedtime. He wake between 4:30am and 5:30 am but not because he is hungry, it just seems to be his morning time. We are currently waking him at 11pm to feed him and he very sleepy during the feed but always finishes his bottle. We are looking at changing the 11:00 feed and wondered what the best way to do it is. I have been told by a friend that they just cut the 11:00 feed out at eventually their baby went from 7-7 without food. My only concern would be is that too long without food and also would that be too much of a change at once for him. The other option I thought of doing was bring the 11pm feed forward to maybe 10:30 for a couple of weeks then maybe 10:00 until we end up cutting out that feed. I'm finding it very confusing and not sure what will be best to do for all of us. The health visit wasn't any help. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Getting my 2 1/2 year old to stay in bed? Help!!!?

My son has been in a toddler bed since he was about 26 months because we were potty training him and he did fine with the transition but we couldnt get him to stay in bed. I read that maybe he was scared so I did someones suggestion to lay outside his door on the door so he could see me. I have done that since 26 months and it has always worked. He is now 32 months. At 26 months we started out with our legs in the door...then we started out moving to where we were in the hall then we moved to where we were in the hall but he could only see our legs. I was able to lay down and cover up so he saw me then id slide out and he wouldnt know since he could usually only see my legs. He use to go to bed at 8pm but during daylight savings time in april I had to move it to 9pm which i didnt really like. But he wont stay in bed or go to sleep even while we are on the floor. Im going to try an 8:30pm bedtime to see if maybe he is just over tired but idk. I am pregnant and the baby is due mid july. id really like to not have to stay on the floor every night if i can help it. I will not close him in his room so please dont tell me to do that. Also the past 3 nights is when he first started not going to sleep right away when i lay on the floor. So its new for us. He will lay down then call for us and get upset if we dont answer. My 1 year old afternoon nap is becoming too close to bedtime?

Hi all mums and mommies, I am a first time mummy so hence why i ask for your advice. My little gal has just turned 1 and she normally wakes up about 6am-6.30am and by 10-11am she is tired so i put her down.. she will sleep about 1- 1.5 hours. She has her lunch after this and by 3-4 pm which is tired again and sometimes will sleep up to 2 hours hence she is waking up 5pm or 6pm. So then i am putting her to bed by 8pm and she is not ready and will fuss,play some whinging and will go to sleep 9pm-9.30pm. I am guessing she is ready for a 1 afternoon nap? Should i try and skip the morning nap even though she is tired, irritable... just push it for 12- 1pm nap. I tried a few times and she will wont sleep till 3pm being more upset overtired and sometimes just sleep the 1-2 hours and still wont go down at 7pm bed time. So then she has had less sleep. I would also like to point out she sleeps only about 9 hours a night now she has turned 1 year old.. she use to sleep 11-12 hours thru the night but since this nap time mess she is only sleeping 9 hours with some random wakes up in the middle of the night.. i was thinking teething was causing this....Some sound advice would be greatly appreciated. You should make it a point to get to sleep and wake up at the same time everyday. Don't sleep too late or for too long. Don't eat after 7 or 8 o clock, don't watch tv go on the computer or listen to too much music for two hours before going to bed. Even if you're not hungry, EAT something, esp. something healthy for all of your meals in order for you body to FUNCTION. Try to exercise, you don't have to go to the gym to do that, just go on youtube and find some short exercise vids. While in bed, try calming your mind by not thinking too much, close your eyes while you're at it, and you'll find yourself sleeping more easily. If the problem persists, Please see a doctor. It could be sleep apnea, insomnia, but I think it has to do with your diet. You may not have enough iron and maybe you're anemic.

98 blazer a/c is having problems HELP!!!!?

Its extremely hot where I live, well the a/c when i first start the truck runs fine, but not the best. after keeping the engine running for about 1 hour worth of driving, the cold air stops, and its kinda like a window unit when you turn off the compressor, it just blows normal air. I popped the hood and touched the compressor in the truck and it was realy hot. well i turned the a/c off and drove about 30mins and when I turned the a/c back on it blew cold air. i stopped and opened the hood and the compreesor was cold again. im confused, can it be a bad compressor? What I have done with suckers is to graft a bud from the mother tree on them, then transplant it in a in about 3 years. It is dependent on the mother tree for nutrients. I would cut the leader root about 3 feet from the host tree the second year then transplant it the third year. Suckers will not produce fruit like the established quince tree. All the quince types I know are grafted and the fruit will not be true to variety. I have a quince which puts out numerous suckers. I simply cut them down since I know they will not produce fruit like the parent tree. Good luck.

11 month old still needs rocking before bed and a bottle a night??!?

Totally normal!! My almost 2 year old has never slept through the night and I think that is more normal than a young baby sleeping through the night. A lot of parents have unrealistic expectations when it comes to their infant and toddler's sleep patterns...the fact that there are so many sleep books claiming to have the answer to sleep "problems" doesn't help the situation. I know it's exhausting but I also think it's just a part of being a parent. I think around 10-12 months can be especially difficult for all sorts of reasons. Being gentle and patient (as you seem to be) is the best way to go about things. If you are looking for gentle ideas to help him sleep, I would recommend the "No cry sleep solution" books...there are 2...one for infants and one for toddlers/preschoolers. We co-sleep and breastfeed which is what works for us... Crying it out is never the right answer in my opinion.

My baby is just over 3 months. I have her on a good feeding schedule (5.5 to 6oz at 7, 10, 1, 4, and 7) and we have a bedtime routine, in bed at 8. She has been sleeping through the night for two weeks. She is hard to keep awake when she wants to sleep. A book I read suggests that you should feed the child 4 times a day and have 2 naps: 1 hour in the morning, 2 hours in the afternoon. Anyways, what do you think? Should I get her on a nap schedule and how would I do that if she is hard to keep awake when she wants to sleep?

I think it depends on the kid. My son is 16 and I make him head to bed around 10:30. He might not go to sleep right away, but he is off the computer and the tv is off. Since I go to bed around that time too (and it's just the 2 of us), he doesn't usually give me much trouble. He needs his sleep.

Why Do Doctors In Arkansas act like Patients are Idiots?

I was referred to EVER TOUCHED my body and told me there was trouble with C-3, C-4 , C-5 and C-6 in my neck. And narrowing in 6 places of my spine. He said he could see something wrong with either my heart or lungs. There was clouding over my neck area where my neck joins my body. He never once touched my body or my spine at anytime. Told me he wanted me to have a Chest, Lung and Heart Xray done to see what was wrong. But then in the next sentence said he wanted me walking 3 mile 3 times a day. Said I was a little over weight. I know this. I have degenerative bone disease of my hips and walking across the floor is a Challenge most days. Just getting off the bed of a morning is painful. I wake up at least 3 times a night in pain. He told me to take Ibprofen for the pain. And sent me to physical therapy for some exercises for my neck and back. And they want me to get this traction device to put 20 pounds of traction on my neck 4 times a day for 30 minutes at a time. I told him I had trouble even walking 25 maybe 50 feet to my mailbox without being in such pain In my hip I wanted to scream. I got to the mailbox one day last week and almost past out from the shooting pain in my left hip. It feel like the Ball is trying to break off my hip bone or my pelvic bone is breaking. But he did not even seem to care. I asked what was causing the Numbness in my arms and legs and he basically said because I was fat and Lazy. And never answered any of my Questions. All he said was that what I have is Hereditary I got it from my mother and my ancestors. I said what do I have and he said Exercise is the key do it for 6 months to stregthen my back and then we will see if we need to do surgery. But after he said something was WRONG with the Heart or Lungs I am scared to do the exercises and or start the walking 3 mile from home. My husband is a truck driver and gone at least 16 hours a day. So I will have to walk by myself. I suggested getting a treadmill at least I could walk in the house still get my 3 mile in and be safe doing it. Where if something happened I could be by the phone to call for help. The doctor said NO walk outside and by a year I should be able to walk 3 mile in 45 minutes 3 times a day. When I was young and in Better health I could not walk 3 mile a day. I had Spinal Meningitus at 2 months old and was told all my life I would be lucky to walk past 30 I will be 50 in 30 days. I have degenerative Spinal Disc Disease. Arthritis Of the Spine and Degenerative Bone Disease. But the back Doctor Did not even seem to care. What I told him. He said do the exercises and we will see in 6 months.

I have a three month old, my second child. I can hardly remember the experience with my first, but we didn't get him on a regular schedule until about 5 months, and with a lot of crying it out. Why does my 2yr old act like this?

my daughter just turned 2 on may 24 and also just started daycare for the first time may 23. I cannot get my toddler to bed anymore, does anyone else have problems with this around 2 years old?

My daughter is approaching two years old and for the last month, she does not want to go to bed at night. Sometimes I even have the same issues with nap time. I know she is tired because she yawns, rubs her eyes, throws temper tantrums, etc. I have tried everything. From baths, rocking her in the glider, dim lights, reading bed time stories, rubbing her back, humming, pacing her bed room. I don't try these all in the same nights but I have tried each one a few nights in a row to see if something would help. I block out the outside lights, run a fan on low, and she has a night light. I have to run the fan because we live in a very small house and the walls are like paper so you can hear everything. My husband and I stay quiet. I am just at loss. She fights sleep every night and even gets up at 3 am to play. It takes me over an hour to get her sleep every night and most nights I leave her in her crib to fall asleep after a half hour of trying to get her to calm down.. She talks, bounces, kicks the sides, and plays in her crib all the time. I have even tried early bedtime around 8:00 and later up until 10:15. I just don't know what will make this kid sleep without a show down every night. She doesn't cry or carry on hardly, she just will not go to sleep. I have tried changing her naps and even tried days without a nap but to no avail my child will not cooperate. I really hope this just a phase. She was a great sleeper until a month or two ago. This wouldn't be such a problem but I am in school and take online classes, night time is my school time. I cannot do my work when she is up during the day for obvious reasons with a toddler running around. Any advice experienced mamas?

How do I keep my puppy entertained when she's in a gated area while we aren't home?

I have a 3 month old Golden Retriever puppy and we have her gated in a small laundry room when it's bedtime or while we are away. And she gets bored and once we let her out she's extremely hyper. It looks as if she just sleeps the whole time she's penned up. Is there anything I can do or give her in that small space to keep her occupied? She's got a Kong but only licks the rim of it for a few minutes then loses interest. I know she will have lots of energy when I do finally let her out, but I don't want her to sleep all day and associate the pen with something negative. I want her to look forward to being in there when we aren't home or are asleep. It's also causing her to not want to come in after we go outside-she'll run from me when I try to get her to take her inside. What is causing this ravenous 3:00 AM hunger?

It started a few weeks ago and it can't be ignored, I have to get up and eat. The only thing that assuages it is protein and lots of it(normally my cravings are for sweets but that has all but disappeared). I'm not gaining weight because I'm not hungry during the day. there is no easy answer to this and what you are doing isnt such a bad idea but almost every mom I have talked to either let them throw it away on their own are did it for them. If you dont get ride of it it will mess his teeth up. My sis didnt get ride of my nephews now not only do his teeth stick out but they are rotten and worse than an 80 yr olds. So if what you are doing doesnt work just take them away and throw them away as soon as you do so your not tempted to give them to him when the water works start. My 18 month old is climbing out of the crib. He sleeps in our bedroom the crib is between the wall and our bed so when he climbs out he falls onto our bed. He used to go to bed with no fuss at all in his crib when he couldn't climb out. The only problem we are having is even though he is super tired he wont go to sleep without a fight. his usual bedtime is 8 and we have been having some late nights. I have tried just putting him back in his crib every time he climbs out which has gone on for over an hour. Laying with him in our bed which he thinks is a game and fights sleeping but eventually he does go to sleep. Any advice you have to make bedtime easier???

Can a bank add a months payment to a repossession even if that months bill Isnt due?

So long story short my boyfriend and I have gone through some hardships in that last year, from getting laid off. We have fallen behind on our truck payments but have gotten caught back up and had a arrangement to pay the last payment to be completely caught up this friday. We have our truck loan with Compass bank and today we called to get the balance of what was due friday, come to find out they have placed our truck in repossession. Apparently the payment we made previously was one day late cuz the bank entered it to late in the night for them to get it same day. Anyways as angry as I am I understand the bank has the right to put our vehicle up for repossession, now my question comes into play. In order for us to take it out of repossession we have to pay a fee to get the notice off plus the balance that was still due, not a big problem except the bank is saying that the balance that is due includes next months payment plus what we were planning on paying friday. How does that work our payment isn't due till the 10th of the month, why do we have to pay next months payment when its not even up to be paid yet? Now Im pretty ticked off cuz how is that at all legal? Can someone please help i have no idea what Ima do since i don't have that kinda cash now!

My pup is a German Shepherd Golden Retriever mix. She's 11 years old, and will be turning 12 in September, so age is a factor. She has had a recent vet visit and is perfectly healthy and impressed the vet for her age. My husband and I decided a few months ago that she could no longer sleep in the same room with us. There are a few reasons behind this decision, such as sleep disturbances (she wakes and pesters when we stir in the night) and a baby on the way. We don't want her to knock over the bassinet or disturb the baby or us any more than we will already be. She is allowed in the room when we are awake, but when it's time to go to bed we escort her out of the room. At first, she tolerated this, then she would grump and not move at first. After about a month she started outright refusing to leave the room at all when she knows what's up. Now she growls and snaps and makes a big fuss, almost to the biting stage. Needless to say, I am concerned. She has a bed that she never uses, that we use to store her toys. She has not accepted the bed and her things being moved to the room next to us to show her a new "space" for her to be at night. She sleeps in the hallway outside the door and shows pretty extreme (for her: normally a VERY docile doggy) "resting place aggression." Our best nights are when we've spent the evening in other places in the house and go to bed late and don't invite her in at all, but it can't be that way every day! There will be times when "family time" is in the bedroom, and bedtime, she's not allowed to stay for. We've tried cajoling her, begging her, tricking her, enticing her, but there's nothing she wants more than to stay in the bedroom. I've tried giving her some time to get used to this arrangement, since she has had that sleeping space for 4 years now. I decided to move her soon after we found out about the pregnancy because I didn't want her to associate the baby with her being kicked out. Time is getting short though and I'm running out of ideas. Help!

I take Toprol XL for high blood pressure daily. My doctor said I could take it in the morning or evening. I tried taking it in the evening and right before bedtime, but for some reason I can't sleep when I take it after 2pm. Why would this be since it slows down your heart and body right? Sub pulls inward when it plays.?

I have 2 10" Pioneer pro series subs in my truck powered by an MTX amp. One speaker does as it is suppose to do. When the bass hits the cone comes out. The other sub when the bass hits pulls the sub inward. I checked all the grounds and other connections. I even took the speaker wires and reversed them, good cone reaction speaker wires to the bad one and vis versa. Still the same problem on the same sub. Anyone got an idea as to what maybe the problem?

I went to Dr other day to get my thyroid lab results & he said I'm at high risk for heart attack because my blood is way too thick & thyroid is messed up again (i'm hypothyroid)..my heart rate at appointment was 121 when I was just sitting around..not doing anything strenuous at all..blood pressure was like 134/95...could my thyroid being messed up be the reason for the thick blood and high heart rate? I don't have an infection but I lost my baby at 5 months on April 11th & had a bad infection in my uterus & bladder then & was on antibiotics almost 2 months (clindamycin). I have an incompetent cervix is why I lost baby early & the infection at time. I'm 21 year old female btw. Also dr put me on baby aspirin at bedtime & a weight loss pill called Diethylpropion. He said it would make me lose weight, feel really good & lots of energy. I weigh 173lbs & 5'4". My question is what could be causing the high heart rate & thick blood?

First I am middle class. I make $70k a year and every policy that he puts forward hurts the middle class and poor. 1)Taking away oil companies ability to take depletion & accelerated depreciation of its assets (that is the subsidies they refer too) is going to reduce oil exploration and increase the oil company expenses. This will of course cause an increase in heating oil and gas prices. Of course since gas prices will be higher that will cause increase in trucking and shipping and another increase in airfares. So now my necessities (food, heat and gas) are more expensive and if I am able to scrape together enough money for a vacation (which is unlikley) it will be more expensive too. What your moretoreum on oil drilling did not contribute to the rise in oil enough? To top it off the new EPA regualations which is essentially the Cap and Tax law that failed in Congress not only kills jobs in the clean coal industries but will raise my electricity bill as well. Now who does these increases hurt more the middle class or the Fat Cat in his corporate jet? Second in the last few months the President has played 17 rounds of golf (min 2.5 hrs) and held 33 fundraisers (lets say all time included 3hrs each) and then scolds Washington saying he has been there bc he met with each caucus for 1.5 hrs. So that is 142hrs to 6hrs. I guess the heart of this question is how can any regular working Joe like myself defend this policy. Best answer to anyone that can show me the error in my logic.

Fiance gets extremely moody before going to sleep, what to do?

My fiance is the kind of guy that gets very very moody before he goes to sleep. But you cannot tell when its gonna happen. One minute he's fine, then the next he's snapping at you. My fiance and I have been dating for 2 years and he's a moody person in general. But it gets to be hurtful when you can't tell when hes gonna get mad and snap at you before bedtime. Tonight before he went to sleep I held his hand and told him I loved him, that there was no one else for me, and that I pictured us growing old together. I asked him if he could picture us growing old together and he said, "No, because I can't even get to sleep." It hurt, bad. Then he seemed a little okay before he went to sleep a few minutes later. My husband and I are planning a 3 night getaway in the fall. My daughter will have just turned 1 year old, and my MIL is planning to keep her. Toddler suddenly waking through the night?

Housebreaking a dog....?

I've been crate training her since I got her but the crate doesn't seem to stop her from urinating/defecating on her bed. It's not an overly large crate but I don't know what else to do. Ok so I have a friend who drives a 1999 f-150 and he has had the truck for 2 years now never changed the oil, brakes, never did a tune up and so on. He has never had a problem with any of his trucks he's ever owned. Well I been having a 1998 s-10 blazer for a year now. when I got it, it ran perfect. My 1 year old doesnt sleep well?

I have a 1 year old that doesn't sleep well. She wakes up over her binky falling out of her mouth at night. She is so tired but fights sleep so hard. She cries at the same time as she goes to sleep. I have never had this problem with her before. Her bedtime is 9pm and I could lay her in her crib and she would roll right over and go to sleep. Now I am lucky to get her to sleep by 1am! I make sure she has ecverything before I try to put her down for the night. Meaning she's not hungry or has a dirty diaper. She has her night night baby and a blanket and she has classical music she sleeps to since she was born. I don't know what I am doing wrong! I refuse to let her sleep in my bed with me. i seriously doubt if he will win custody. my fixing to be husband's ex wife has far less parental issues than they do and we have his two children with us as well as my two. let him take it to court. the court will make the ultimate decision of course but there are a couple of things you won't get a vote on. first off the kids have a right to get child support whether you want it or not. we would be fine without it as well but since his ex wasn't paying it they have begun garnishing her wages. then there is the court ordered visitation. now if they are old enough to say hey no i don't want to go i don't know much about it. my step babies are 2 and 3 years old and they have to go see their real mom every other weekend and for extended visits during summer vacation and during some holidays (that varies alternating years). you will have to find out more about that part but its hard. my little ones come home quite out of hand a lot when they have been over there for a visit due to a total lack of consistant parenting. the judge will look at prior history and examine the reasons the kids should stay at either place as well as possibly talk to them since they are definately old enough to let it be known where they feel they are better off. i wish you the best of luck here...and judges can usually tell if people actually care about the kids or if they just want to get out of paying child support. funny enough...these absent parents don't seem to realize that having the kids in the home is usually a lot more expensive then paying child support is anyway!

How do I keep myself from getting sleepy during the day?

When I'm trying to re-establish my sleep/wake schedule, I do anything that will keep me out of bed. For example, even if I'm really sleepy, I can still play computer games and eat. I know, not particularly productive, but at least I stay out of bed. I let myself do whatever I want for a few days, as long as I don't crawl back into bed. I find that after a few days, my brain gets used to the idea that I am going to be awake between so-and-so hours. It does actually work!! All the best!!

6:45 is really early to be getting up at 7. Since she is getting so much sleep she probably isn't very tired when 6:45 comes back around. She needs 10.5-12.5 hours of sleep with a 1-3 hour nap. Do the math, and try it again. Don't cut out her naps.

I have 2 kicker cvr 12s in a box to fit my truck and a Kicker ZX1500.1 1500 watt amp. I bought a basic amp kit with 8 gauge wire in it because i was clueless, but figured out that its too small. cold turkey is hard but even at 3 in the morning he will learn that he cant have it and go back to sleep in the end and after 2 or 3 nights he should stop crying for it. keep them out of sight during the day so he isnt able to just put them in his mouth and this should make it easier for bedtime too if he not having during the day. try to be consistant and not give in to his crying which i know is hard otherwise you will confuse him and make it harder to take it away. i know it is hard but this way does work as i have successfully taken my daughters dummy off her this way when she was 2

Your baby is far too young to be giving solids. Formula or breast milk is all he needs, this is why he is not interested yet. Stick with the bottle until at least 4 months, but 6 is far better.

I transition both of my 1st 2 children from a crib to a toddler bed before they were a year old. Because they kept climbing out of their crib. Then when they wouldnt stay it that. We went to a twin bed. Then they both would stay in bed. I had rails all the way down the sides. Now with my 3rd child he is just a year old and we totally skipped the toddler bed. I think it depends on the child. She maybe ready if she was that interested in it.

I am military and have been dealing with pain from two bulging discs in my lower back since Easter.?

First it started with a numb leg with sharp shooting pains and tingling and pain, then my foot started hurting when input pressure on it, the military sent me to a neurologist that said I have meragia prosthetica which is associated with obesity (I'm 110 lbs) pregnancy and diabetes which I don't have and sent mr for an MRI. MRI showed slight bulge in l4 l5 and l5 s1 which wasn't significant enough to do anything about. Since then it's gotten so much worse my back is killing me feels like a truck has ran over me. They next sent me to pain mngmnt which said he couldn't diagnose me and that I needed a full neurological work up so I went back to base and they out in a referral to a teaching hospital which needed two weeks to decide I'f they would even take me so then I went back to dr on base and found out they denied me, so now my dr on base says he don't know what to do that I need to find a neurologist and he'd out the federal in for me. I'm at my wits end and in extreme amount of pain they won't give me any meds since I had disc fusion in dec and have been on lortab since which don't work at all and I feel like the military isn't helping me. I can barely walk can't work lost my job over this can hardly make my bills and don't know what to do! Please help! What can I do next, I'm a military dependent and I don't know where else to go went to er twice and they won't do anything either just sent me away. I just need out of pain. I can't sleep I'm starting to get ( sorry graphic) constipated now and I'm totally lost I think it's gotten worse but they won't do another MRI. Please any advise would help thanks

How to get my 2 year old to drink milk?

Since he was weaned from a bottle at nap and bedtime, my toddler refuses to drink milk. Period. And he used to loooove the bottle. Here is what I've tried so far...putting milk in a sippy cup, a regular "big boy" cup, telling him all his favorite people drink milk (daddy, cousin, Woddy from Toy Story, etc), buying a special cup with a crazy straw, getting a transitional sippy cup with a soft spout, and only giving him the option of drinking milk at mealtimes. He wants absolutely nothing to do with them and I've been completely unsuccessful so far. I'm just concerned he isn't getting enough calcium. He is the typical picky toddler, he'll love yogurt and cheese one week, but hate it the next, so I can't always rely on that for his calcium intake. He also doesn't drink juice, never has, just water. I'm not opposed to juice, he just won't take it. So, calcium enriched orange juice is also out. Anyone have any tips?

How to deal with a whiny two year old?

I have a two year old son (background info: we also have a 3 1/2 year old son, and a three week old daughter) who for the past several months has been getting progressively worse with his whining. I don't know how to stop it! We've tried time-outs, i've tried giving him individual attention, and nothing seems to work. If anything, it seems to be getting worse! This has been going on since before the baby was born, so i don't think it really has anything to do with her (though i'm sure she doesn't help matters now that all i seem to do is nurse the girl). The biggest frustration with the whole matter, is that he also refuses to speak or try to talk at all. All we get is "uh, uh, uh" and pointing. Not to mention, he used to only want/need the 'ba-ba' at nap and bedtime. Now he wants it 24-7, and cries until you give it to him. The last tantrum went on for well over an hour before i finally gave in... Does anybody know any tricks to get him past this behavioral hurdle?

This guy and me have been together for about 2 years now. High heart rate & thick blood?

I went to Dr other day to get my thyroid lab results & he said I'm at high risk for heart attack because my blood is way too thick & thyroid is messed up again (i'm hypothyroid)..my heart rate at appointment was 121 when I was just sitting around..not doing anything strenuous at all..blood pressure was like 134/95...could my thyroid being messed up be the reason for the thick blood and high heart rate? I don't have an infection but I lost my baby at 5 months on April 11th & had a bad infection in my uterus & bladder then & was on antibiotics almost 2 months (clindamycin). I have an incompetent cervix is why I lost baby early & the infection at time. I'm 21 year old female btw. Also dr put me on baby aspirin at bedtime & a weight loss pill called Diethylpropion. He said it would make me lose weight, feel really good & lots of energy. I weigh 173lbs & 5'4". My question is what could be causing the high heart rate & thick blood?

1989 F-150 V8, Fuel Injection, Dual Gas tanks, not getting the gas to start?

Don't drive it much, but the front gas tank has been reading full too long. Was running great, but the last few times I used it, it's been running rougher and rougher, like the gas was getting too old. When it ran real rough, brought it home quick, it died and won't start now. It's not getting the gas. Electrical is fine. At the end of trying to start it I do get "the buzz" sound. I changed the fuel filter and nothing. Man, I miss carburetors -- I had more control. Can't take it to the mechanic-- spent enough already getting somethings fixed and putting it up for sale. I need a plan of attack or my husband is going to junk it. It's a good truck with only 87,000 miles on it. Help!

12 month old sleeping?

My daughter just turned one year old, and was sleeping from 8:30pm till about 8am in the morning straight without waking up. Well then we had 2 weeks full of fevers due to 2 different things and also she teethed all 4 molars in those 2 weeks. It was rough and I was up a lot with her during the night when she was sick and running the fevers. During those 2 weeks of sickness she lost 2 pounds so her pediatrician asked me to start middle of the night bottles again. Now that she is healthy she is waking up at 3:30 every morning for a bottle. Only a 4 ounce bottle so she must not be that thirsty. I have tried the cry it out method, also have tried giving her a sippy cup, and after a few nights of no sleep from my little one I gave in last night to the 4 ounce bottle and she drank it, and I put her into bed and she put herself back to sleep. She puts herself to sleep by herself, naptime and bedtime, and that middle of the night feeding she will drink the bottle and put herself back to sleep, but if she doesn't have the bottle she screams for hours. What do I do? Is it ok for a 4 ounce bottle in the middle of the night? How do I break her?
