My 11 month old wont go to bed anymore! help?

my almost 1 year old stays up until 1AM now! i can't take it. and he still gets up bright and early in the morning. i have tried not letting him take a nap in the early evening and still stays up. this has been going on almost a week now. we have not changed anything with his bedtime routine. what is up with this!? and what can i do? and dont say to put him in crib and let him cry it out it doesn't work, he gets too worked up and ends up losing his voice. and dr said he could get a hernia because he doesn't stop, he just keeps crying worse.
