Six month old will NOT stay asleep?

You could try putting one of your old soft t shirts on a pillow and giving that to him when you put him to bed. That way he has something soft to cuddle and touch that smells like you when he starts to wake up. If you can get him to sleep the night he may not be so cranky and clingy during the day.
