Is this considered askin me out or something?

Ok, he asked me if I was up to anything that Saturday and I asked why and he said he asked if I wanted to go with him to a guys (I kinda sorta not really know them) sisters quince. I said I wasn't sure and he was willing to ask my mom to convince her to let me go with him. Idk he didn't say it was a date but it seemed like it was onli me who he was taking with him? And when I said I didn't want to go ( I had actually meant the thing I had to do on sat not that) and I cleared it up he said o I thought u didnt want to go with me I was like :((,, so was this like a date? I wasn't invited in the first place to the 15 ,, and I dnt really know them so... Any helps is appreciated!
